DEADBEAT Devlog #10: Launching the game!

This weeks devlog will go through some of the final changes, player feedback, and a list of bug fixes that all got resolved. Further more we go through some quality of life changes and an overview of the DEADBEAT game.
Ability Changes
Dynamite
Dynamite was fully reworked, it now explodes/knocks back players only when the timer ends. The knockback has also been increased.
Basic Punch
Increased knockback.
Adrenaline/Injection
Completely changed, now gives extra speed boost to players for 10 seconds.
On Beat Jump
Now fully increases the basic punch bar.
Visual Changes
UI
- Several changes to: In-game UI, Play and Options menu , ...
- Changes to Character selection screen
Scene
- Added several laser lights to the scene
- Added scrolling tutorial screen to the tutorial screen for the abilities.
Player
- Added death effect when players die.
- Added the particle + animation to the player when they die.
Random Mystery Box
- Added effect that box bounces & spawns pickup item + Animation
Player Feedback
New Sound Effects
We have added some new sounds, these really help bring the game alive and help give the player a sense of achievement.
- Circle Saw & Big Circle Saw
- Dynamite
- Injection (Speed increase)
- Box Drop Sound
- Dead Sound
- Damage Sound
- Button SFX on menu
Haptic Feedback
Implementing haptic feedback was an important factor of the game that was not there yet. Now it is.
- On Damaged
- On Punched
- Jumping on the beat
- Using an ability
- Dynamite Effect
Particle Effects
We added some additional particle effects. These are mainly additions for the ending of the game.
- Player Death
- Player WIN (End Screen)
Tutorial/Character customization scene
We've adjusted some of the lights and looks of this scene, and added screens to indicate what to do in DEADBEAT in an easy understandable and comprehensive way.
Bug Fixes
Player & Abilities
- Players now have a correct particle effect playing when dying and getting damage
- Characters now reset their state
- Dynamite does not freeze players anymore
- Players do not move anymore now when moving after death (end screen)
- Fixed Shield offset
- Fixed death effect position
UI
- Fixed multitude of UI issues
- Fixed non-player disappearing of UI
- Fixed colors of UI scheme
- Fixed Scalability
- Fixed
Gameplay
- Improved FPS / Optimization
- Improved On-time jump time frame allowance
